Not Translating

For some reason Stevesesy made a post about me working on a new fan translation for a Super Famicom game (here), but it’s not true at all. I wish it was, but I have no time for big fan translation projects anymore, and if I WERE working on something I would announce it on here myself. In fact, I even had to drop the Far East of Eden Zero translation from my project pile (see here) due to lack of time.

When I saw your post, I thought, “Uh oh. He’s getting out of the translation business completely?” ^_^;;; *lol* Glad its just a fan project, and not completely.

BTW, do you still translate for FUNimation?

    • Mato says:

Haha, I’m probably too steeped into translation by now to stop forever 😛

Yep, I still translate for FUNi!

    • I have to admit, i had the same scary thought upon first seeing the article header. Either that, or that he wasn’t doing any more “Legends of Localization” translations, which would have sucked cuz i love reading those.

I know he still works for Funi. I just got the latest DBZKai dvd yesterday, and i always enjoy finding your name in the credits.

BTW, what was the game he thought you were translating? Apparently he took the article down since the link just gives a 404 and then redirects it back to the guys home page.

Honestly, if Mato were to ever do another game fan-translation, i would want it to be the Mother 2 side of Mother 1+2. But sadly, i know that ain’t ever gonna happen unless someone somewhere ever comes up with an easier and more streamlined way to hack that game.

      • Mato says:

Wait, am I in the credits for DBZ Kai? I didn’t work on that at all 😯

I still have that constant itch to hack/translate stuff, and part of me DOES want to work on the Mother 2 side of Mother 1+2, but the sane side of me knows that it’ll only cause unneeded stress 🙁

        • Maybe i’m thinking the older DB stuff. I haven’t actually gotten around to watching the DVD yet. But yeah, every time i get a Funi DVD i always check for your name.
